Leave of Absence Standard Features

Out-of-the-box, Leave of Absence (LOA) tracking in ClientSpace includes the following features:

  • Leave of Absence dataform

  • Leave of Absence Search/Dashboard

  • Link from the Employee record to create a new LOA record

Note: Additional functionality is available. Check with your ClientSpace representative to find out which additional features are free with the implementation of the Leave of Absence module and which features require additional fees. Additional features include:

  • Custom widgets

  • Custom workflows

  • Custom links

  • Custom fields/lookups

  • Hiding of unused fields

Leave of Absence Dataform

The Leave of Absence dataform is where you add an employee's LOA details. It can be configured to include external links in the Action Center to sites such as the US Dept of Labor and US Office of Personnel Managements so you can quickly download forms or review Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) guidelines.

LOA records display on the Leave of Absence dashboard where you can search for records and open records to view or edit by clicking (Open) next to a record in the grid.

To search, you can do any of the following:

  • Sort by columns. See Search dashboards.

  • Use Quick Search. See Quick Search.

  • Use More search to search by Client, Client Number, Employee Last (Name), Employee First (Name), Status, Type of Leave, Category, Request Received Date, and Estimated RTW (Estimated Return to Work). See More Search.

Link from the Employee Record to Create an LOA Record

When the Leave of Absence functionality is enabled, a custom link is added for you to the Employee form of the Employees module. Click LOA in the Action Center under Links to add a new LOA record for the selected employee.

Note: 

  • You can also add the Leave of Absence module to the modules bar as a shortcut if you access it frequently. See Adding user modules.

  • If you cannot see the Leave of Absence module in your list of modules, contact your System Administrator who can assign you the Human_Resources Member role, access to the Enterprise License and access to any related Business Intelligence module reports, as applicable.
